This Privacy Policy describes how Rhubarb ("Rhubarb", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and discloses personal information in connection with the Rhubarb account service at getrhubarb.tv and the Rhubarb apps (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to the Service only. Rhubarb media servers are installed and operated by their owners, who decide what content they hold and with whom they share it. We do not control, and this Policy does not cover, how the owner of a media server handles information on that server.

2. Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address and, if you choose to set one, a password.
• Information from sign-in providers. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive an account identifier and the email address the provider shares with us.
• Sharing information. The names and identifiers of media servers connected to your account, and the email addresses with which their owners share them.
• Communication preferences. Whether you have asked to receive news about Rhubarb.
• Technical information. Information your device sends when it connects to the Service, which we process as needed to operate and secure it.

We do not collect or have access to the media you watch, listen to or read. That content travels directly between a media server and your device.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to provide and operate the Service, including creating and authenticating accounts and connecting you to media servers shared with you; to send service communications such as verification codes; to send news about Rhubarb where you have asked us to; to protect the Service and its users against fraud and abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it only:

• to service providers that host the Service, deliver and secure its traffic, send email on our behalf, and, if you opt in, send our newsletter, each bound to use it only to provide their services to us;
• to the sign-in provider you choose to use;
• to the owner of a media server, to the extent needed to share that server with you;
• where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of Rhubarb, our users or others; and
• in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

5. Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to secure sign-in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

6. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete the associated personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may unsubscribe from news at any time. To make a request, contact us at [email protected] from the email address on your account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. International users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you through the Service or by email.
